WHAT TO DO – WHEN PRAYING FOR OUR KIDS
GOAL: To simply pray for our kids and teachers before they head to their classes. Exhortation is optional. Please be aware of your allotted time – the kids are standing in front the whole time – please keep both prayer and exhortation concise (we don’t want our toddlers standing in front for more than 3 minutes)
OPTIONAL EXHORTATION (around 1 MINUTE)*
So it is up to you what you would like to share. However it must be within these guidelines …
- It must be Kid’s or Kid’s Ministry related insight, admonition, or encouragement as well as scripture.
- It must align with scripture and what we believe
- You may simply share a relevant scripture without any exhortation and that’s ok
- You can also quote an author, but it must align with scripture and what we believe.
PRAYER (around 2 MINUTES, without the above exhortation around 3 MINUTES)*
Some insights as to what to pray for our kids:
- They may grow in their knowledge of and obedience to Christ.
- Through our kids’ ministry, they will come to faith in the Lord Jesus, to love and serve him with all their heart.
- The Lord’s love, wisdom and guidance upon all teachers as they teach God’s Word.
- Spiritual understanding of the lessons upon our kids.
- Develop Christ-Centered friendships with other kids.
- The Lord’s wisdom and guidance upon our parents as they raise these kids in the ways of the Lord.
- Protect them as they enjoy their time here on Sundays.
- God’s protection at school and they learn to stand of the truth of God’s Word at their young age.
*2 minutes is reading font size 11 notes off a 1/4 sheet of letter size paper. Straight reading will only take around 1 minute, but when you’re in front the time always expands (the theory of relativity has not been able to explain this phenomenon yet).
